Values

I was fortunate to learn about the importance of defining my values when I was  26 years old in 1980. I have been developing and refining my values ever since then. Now that I am creating a community I am ready to finalize my values. I want people who I live with to share my values because otherwise there is so much potential for unnecessary conflict. There will be enough conflict even though we share values!  One value is to resolve conflicts in a responsible manner.

However, I also want to invite people to participate in various ways in the community which you can find here: This includes apprenticeships, work exchanges, visiting, work parties and more. I know that my values are quite unique, and I want to be able to connect with all kinds of people. But full members will share these values.

Values are important because they provide guideposts for our behavior and decisions. By defining my values I define what is most important in my life. That helps me decide what my goals are and how I want to prioritize my time, energy and money.

Having shared values doesn’t mean that we all are exactly alike. There is so much room to be creative, to grow, to fulfill our potentials within shared values. I hope that by simply reading these values you will get clarity about your own values.

The following description of values is still in process, but nothing is going to change drastically. If you feel aligned with these values and have an interest in connecting with me about possibilities of helping start this community contact me at livablefutureproject at gmail dot com
