Here is a practice that can help us to envision the beautiful future that we have only imagined can be true. It is a way of bringing into the present something that we believe is in alignment with universal truth–a world where all life can thrive.
Joanna Blad, admin of the wonderful Facebook page, Vegans Here There and Everywhere, named this technique, and we discovered that we both were using the exact technique.
I didn’t have a name, so she graciously let me adopt the name.
Here are the instructions:
Step 1: Choose a project or goal or vision you are working on.
Step. 2 Pick a date in the future. Go into the future as far as you would like. It depends on if you are looking to visualize short term goals or long term goals.
Step 3: Start speaking as if you are in the future, and things that you would like to have happened, have already happened.
Step 4: (optional) You can go over the story and make a project plan using the ideas you came up with. Or, get help from others who read it.
Step 5: (optional) Share this in a group, or facilitate a group. Make sure you time people equally so everyone gets the same amount of time and things are fair.
Step 6: (optional) Share your vision, such as the one below, with others so they can get a creative and inspiring glimpse into what you are envisioning
Wellspring Community vision that I made using the Harmony Story technique:
I hope you will share your thoughts about how harmony stories can be used, improved, refined and expanded.
