Value: Gift Economy

Gift Economy: A gift economy or gift culture is a mode of exchange where valuables are not traded or sold, but rather given without an explicit agreement for immediate or future rewards. … This contrasts with a barter economy or a market economy, where goods and services are primarily explicitly exchanged for value received. I wrote about my history with the gift economy since I was 21, 1976 (2019 now) here.

I worked on a proposal for the Bay Area Community Exchange which shows my research in Time Banking in this blog.

We will do all we can to help us all be as independent of the debt-money systems as possible.  We will do things like start a Time Bank in our neighborhood to help with that.

This book, Moneyless Manifesto,  is all about how to live without money. Guess what–you can download it for free!

This article about how the teachings of Jesus are against capitalism, and for the gift economy, was inspiring to me.
