Practice: Raw Plant Based diet

Raw Plant Based Diet: Not everyone will want to eat this percentage of raw food. We will need to negotiate this.

70 to 100 percent raw whole foods is my ideal. This website called Nutrition Raw has great guidance and recipes.

Vision: Please join me in imagining the community in the future as if it is in the present:

Our community is absolutely thriving on our raw food diet. Every day we are sharing about the health benefits we are experiencing, and after a year, we all look young, fit and radiant!

We have developed our own recipe book and youtube channel sharing our unique raw food experiences including using wild edibles, easy to grow plants like mint and comfrey, and how to make raw food for babies and people who do not have teeth.

Not having to cook means we don’t have to have an expensive stove, big pots and pans, and heat in our indoor kitchen. Although we do have an lovely outdoor screened in kitchen, at times we want to use the indoor kitchen in the summer months. We have all the best tools–including spirulizers, vitamin blenders, sharp knives, food processors so that we can be really flexible.

Having a raw food chef who loves being creative come and join us has been such a boon. She enjoys being in the kitchen, supervising and teaching either community members who take a work shift, or volunteers who want to learn.

People are coming from all over the world just to help in the kitchen, work in the garden, and support the community in whatever way they have talents. Although some come on a work-away basis, others come because they want to pay and not work. This gives us a great source of income.

The food is scrumptious, mouth-watering, and unique. Getting food from our local farmers markets as well as our flourishing garden, food forests, and wild edible gathering in the forest gives us so much super fresh food as well as having very high vibrations.

We are on the verge of starting a business where we make dishes made from comfrey and mint, because these are our most prolific, nutritious and easy to grow plants. We have found other superfoods to grow such as mooring which incorporate into our diet, including green smoothies, beautifully.

My favorite website: Nutrition Raw. So far, this is the best website I have found on eating raw. I especially like that Ariel Belloso. I am happy that he recommends an oil free, minimal nuts and seeds, simple diet. I love that he gives lots of free recipes and his ebooks are reasonably price. Ariel responded quickly to an email I sent him, and I sense that he is a kindred spirit in many ways.

When a person acknowledges the reality of the deep state or shadow government which he alludes to (although not by those names) in this article, I feel more secure in trusting him. Knowing that Big Pharma is invested in making money and keeping us from being healthy because raw food is not healthy also is something he points out in the blog post. Ariel wants everyone to be healthy, and I want to help realize his vision of 100 Million people on a raw, plant-based diet.

I can’t wait to try out his recipes. I am currently on day 20 on a 40 day Master Cleanse fast (Sept. 19). When I am done, I think that finally I will be able to make a commitment to eating at least 80% raw and eventually 100%.

From the website:

Eating the correct raw food diet will not only improve your health vitality dramatically, but it is also affects the health of the Earth.

In fact, adopting a raw food diet (or mostly raw) is perhaps the most far reaching personal decision any individual can make in order to save our planet. ”

Starting out on raw: This article on the Nutrition Raw website says the following:

“One of most important aspects of healthier eating is learning how to remove the bad stuff from your current diet first – and to understand why it is bad stuff.

Most of the time, It is NOT what you add to your diet that makes you healthier, but what you take out.” Ariel Belloso

Raw and Plant Based Diet raises our vibration.

“Many people are not aware of how large of an effect their diet has on their state of being. Your physiological health is literally the platform for your consciousness. The Nero-transmitters and hormones responsible for your moods and state of being are directly correspondent to your nutritional intake, as well as the level of toxins that are present in your system. You are what you eat and if you’re eating dead chemical filled junk, you will feel like dead chemical filled junk…” -Patrick Haize, from Transformation Reversing Old Habits

This article is comprehensive in its scope. I read Bridget’s about page here, and I found that just reading about her life stretched my comprehension of reality, and yet I resonate with all she shared.

For the environment: Eat raw plant based for the environment. Although this is not specifically about raw food, I would say that not having to use energy to cook foods saves energy.  Whole foods and no oil means less energy used for processing. We get more nutrition from less food thus we buy less food. The transport and other costs are alleviated.  Read more here.

Benefits of eating food fresh (and raw): We have a great farmer’s market in Fayetteville, less than an our away from our community. Read this article for more.

My story

I was introduced to the concept of raw food at age 20 when I met Cliff, my amazing present friend and former husband. We managed to stay on a raw food diet for a year, and during that time my eyesight was completely healed and I didn’t wear glasses.

I wanted to stay raw, but just didn’t have the self control. I was even drawn to fruitarianism when I read a very old book about the topic. The library that Quincy John Workman who was a raw food octogenarian we worked with had great books on every topic of natural healing. Many of them were out of print.

It made sense to me that fruits from trees and berries were the best source of food because they didn’t have to be re-planted every year. Fruits and berries wanted to be eaten and were like an offering to people because then a human or nonhuman animal would eat the fruit and most likely go away from the tree to poop. Perfect way to plant seeds. No harm at all is done to the tree when one picks a tree-ripened fruit, and tree ripened is the absolute best tasting and nutritious.

When we move back to California after 3 years in Arkansas, it was much easier to enjoy lots of fruit, yet I still did not eat as much as I wish I had. But I’ve always thought that an abundance of raw food, as much as possible was beneficial. For the most part, I have eaten about 60% raw.

When I was 26, I was drawn to take a 3 week retreat at the Optimum Health Institute in Lemon Grove. My life was changed by eating completely raw. I could never , however, drink wheat grass again without gagging because we had so much of it! I had never before taken a 3 week retreat, and I emerged a transformed person in many ways. I know the raw foods helped with that transformation.

On and off throughout the years I have gone 100% raw. Robert, former husband number 2, had a few health scares and we, along with my daughter,  went raw. Robert was healed of his ailments. Then we would go back on a diet of partially cooked food.

When I heard of green smoothies back in 2005 or so, I fell in love with the concept. My best friend at the time was going from a sad diet to raw, and she had a little business selling raw food ingredients. We would get together and make delicious foods like raw pizza and yummy deserts. She invited me to go on a vacation with her and her family–her daughter was my daughter’s best friend–and the raw food was so refreshingly delicious and nutritious.

However, at the time, I did not realize that oil and lots of nuts were not the best for my system. It has only been recently, in the past 3 months or so, that I have become convinced that a whole food, oil-less, minimal seeds and nuts diet is the best for me.

For about 6 months I lived with someone who I taught vegan cooking. She wasn’t ready for 100% raw, but she loved salads. So I made wonderful stews in the Instant pot she had conveniently just purchased. I was definitely using less oil by this time, and we poured our yummy cooked food over a big salad as a kind of dressing.

When I got an inheritance around 2010, my first purchases were a vita mix blender and excalibur dehydrator. I haven’t used the dehydrator a lot, but I think I will in the future. Being able to make crackers and pizza crust and sweet treats without killing the enzymes was so awesome. The temperature controls kept the foods under 105, which is the temperature that enzymes get killed.

In 2011, I read the book Raw Family: A Story of Awakening and was enamored with the Boutenka family’s story of going raw and how their entire lives were transformed. I bought the recipe book that the brother and sister team had written. I longed for our family-Robert, daughter Mahriyanna, and I to go raw. For various reason, including the amount of time it took to prepare foods and the cost of the foods, we just couldn’t do it.

Recently I fasted on liquids for two days–green smoothies, soaked almonds blended with fresh orange juice, and fresh vegetable juice. I felt so light and energized. I could make all the food at once and store it in the refrigerator in jars for easy access.

Raw food also decreases the need for packaging, and because I want our community to move towards zero waste, this will make that goal easier to accomplish.

I’ve gotten in the habit of eating less grain, which the author of the Nutrition Raw website recommends letting go of, so that will be easy. When I learned about making spaghetti noodles from zucchini using a simple potato peeler to make the noodles, I actually preferred the raw vegetable version.  Eating raw in the mornings for the past 30 years has been easy for me. It was dinner that was the hardest to eat raw, and I am going to be armed with recipes all ready to go when I go off the fast I am on for the next 20 Days. Oct. 9, 2019 is my goal, and I will have fasted on the Master Cleanse a total of 40 days. I think my body will be craving raw at this point.

I am so ready to start eating 90 to 100% raw. I am convinced that it is the best way to eat. I have been swayed by people who say that it is not the best diet, and because of my addiction to cooked food, I let myself be persuaded. I’m excited about envisioning a community where we can support each other on this quest for the optimum diet. Fruitarianism, liquidation, and then breatharianism, might be the next
