My fondness for comfrey has grown ever since I met her in the Garden of Eden. Built by an 83 year old raw-foodist who promoted a credit system for money instead of our debt-money system, Quincy John Workman, the garden truly was a paradise when I visited it 45 years ago.
The garden, located on a once-barren hill-side at San Diego State University, was my first real introduction to conspiracy theories, and learning how to garden. Cliff Mikkelson, was my guide to both of these topics. We are now divorced, and I’m happy to say we cooperate beautifully as neighbors and friends. I will be forever grateful to him for teaching me about such plants as comfrey.
I’m not sure how many comfrey plants have been planted because of me putting a bit of root in a pot and sharing the lovelies with others. I’m probably a great great grandmother by now!
I think I have about 50 plants on the property where I live which is near the Wellspring Monastery land. Comfrey plants are growing at the Monastery land even though I don’t water them very often, they still can thrive.
