Gardening is SO amazing. Even though I am aspiring to be a breatharian I will probably always garden to provide food for humans and animals, and because I so love doing this beautiful work! Gardening in the no-dig ways that permaculturists and and increasing number of gardens recommend, means I truly steward the soil by enriching it, not destroying things like earthworms and microbes.
The only plants that die are the ones that I cover up with composting materials, and I apologize to them in advance, and also check in, and encourage them to remove their life force. I do believe that plants like me to do that. This practice can’t hurt–just softens my heart and helps me honor ALL of life. I forget some times–but this is my goal.
