I was so delighted to stumble across this blog post about an off-grid vegan permaculture farm when I was doing research on vegan permaculture. I highly recommend that you read this if you want to get a sense of how Wellspring will look, with the exception of the gas stove. For the minimal cooking we will do, we will use a rocket stove made out of bricks, and hay box cooking.
Eventually we will use solar cookers so we don’t have to pollute at all. This is a very doable model.

I loved the video (below) done by the author who visited the farm (see above paragraph). Just a simple thing like living without shampoo is a huge step towards having zero waste, saving money, and nurturing the environment.
This video demonstrates how a lot of food can be grown on a small amount of space. We don’t have a lot of cleared space with enough sun for garden, so we need to maximize what we do have. This video also demonstrates the beauty of living without a car, using wood stove to cook and heat, and other off grid methods. I love the fact that they homeschool, and realize that if humans continue to live in the typical way they do in the materilistic world, humans will not survive.
The following video is inspiring because this woman shows how she can grow so much food in a small space. We want to demonstrate this and teach others to have urban homesteads, since not everyone can move to the country.
