The view you see is what I wake up to every day. I feel overjoyed that I can offer the following:
From now, Oct. 2020, until Spring 2021, residents of the monastery will be living in a 2 bedroom apartment on a beautiful peace of land which is a 10 minute drive via county road from where the Wellspring Monastery will have its permanent location.
I am so blessed to be able to caretake this log house and 12 acres of land along with my former husband, Robert Kersbergen. We have an agreement at this point that I have the apartment, and he has the large house. There is a possibility that residents can live in the upstairs if we run out of room in the apartment.
The bedrooms are small. One is going to be used for a grow room where we will grow greens and the superfood, moringa. The other room will be used for an office, podcast studio, a place to talk on the phone or having private conversations including emotional release sessions.
The 13 x 36 foot open room, with beautiful views of the lake will be used for co-working, eating and food preparation during the day. At night, we will have cots for people to sleep on.
If a person wants to sleep in a tent outside on the patio or elsewhere on the property, that is a possibility.
Kitchen: The kitchen is minimal. There is a counter, shelves for various items, and appliances like a convection oven, slow-cooker, hot plate and vita mix. There is no sink, so I wash dishes with water from the bathtub. I might buy an Instant Pot.
Bathroom: Bathtub, shower, sink and toilet.
Closet: A full closet with lots of hangers and shelves
Dining area: A round table and chairs.
Clothes washing: I wash my clothes by hand with a toilet plunger and bucket. We do have access to a community washing machine, and there is a laundrymat in Huntsville 20 minutes away.
Outdoors: One of the most beautiful views (Prayer Lake along with the hills surrounding it) in the Ozarks can be seen right out of the window. There is a concrete patio which had lots of plants, mostly natives, growing in front of it. The 12 acres that the house and apartment are on are beautiful, including a short hiking trail that is perfect for forest therapy. You can see more of the property and the log house here.
Access: There is an excellent highway leading up to the county road which is a well-maintained gravel road that is about 1/8th of a mile. The driveway, about 1/8 mile, is sketchy in some areas, and you need front wheel drive, or 4 wheel drive to get up. There is parking about 50 yards from the entrance of the driveway if your car can not get up the driveway.
