I love to envision what the monastery will be like by writing a story in the present that helps me to engage my imagination along with my heart. I hope this helps you to know more about me, and what it could be like living together.
Ifeel so happy that 2 people have joined the monastery and we are living in such beautiful harmony. We have worked out a daily routine where we are able to encourage each other in spiritual practices that are helping us to be increasingly connect to Jesus and to each other.
We are sleeping dormitory style, each with a cot, and we are very happy to be in sync with each other as we pray, meditate, do our cold therapy, intercessory prayers, and more each morning. Our fasting until noon works really well, and our simple meal of rice, beans, greens from the garden, and other nutritious plant-based foods is satisfying and yummy.
Preparing food together makes the work go faster, and we have wonderful conversations where we talk about our plans, get to know each other, and even clear up small misunderstandings. We sing, pray, and laugh together. Cleaning up and doing other chores become things that are no longer drudgery, but rather a time to do all kinds of great things that increase our bonds to each other and to God.
I love the fact that my virtual organizing business is taking off with the help of the 2 new residents. Each of us has different talents to share, and we are complementing each other. One is really great at doing Youtube videos and podcasts, and we are promoting the business and helping people by sharing ways they can downsize and declutter.
We feel very satisfied doing this work because we are creating support groups who help each other to be accountable as well as provide encouragement and love that is very fulfilling for us all. We are sharing the love of Christ in such a meaningful way, and our clients lives are being changed dramatically as they learn to be less materialistic and more focused on living simply and richly.
We also share videos about Christian Universalism and plant-based living–including, of course, gardening.
We have a grow room set up in one of the bedrooms. Who needs bedrooms for sleeping! We have a plethora of greens, including the Moringa trees I started last spring. We also have a ton of greens growing outside in a green house. We are so blessed with abundance!
I’m glad we can be involved politically as well. The upcoming election is so important, and we are helping people raise their awareness about how deceptive the mainstream media are and providing facts that help them make wise choices about how to vote, including locally.
I feel excited to experience this cooperation. We are soon going to be reaching out to the neighborhood to do a workshop on how to do gardening most effectively in our area, and get the wisdom from many of the very experienced gardeners who live around here. Hosting weekly “Community: Connect!” gatherings will also be something we do very soon.
We are able to make a living doing our organizing business, and are finding other ways to make money so that when people come here they don’t have to go outside to make money.
I’m glad I got all the things finally together that made it easy for people to apply to live here and make a decision to come. I believe that God guided these people and they are the perfect ones to be here! I feel SO grateful!
Thanks for reading this. What do you think?
I feel invigorated and inspired after writing this. I hope to share this kind of writing every day–even if it is just a few paragraphs.
