Talents, skills and knowledge I want to share with my neighborhood

Are you having a gathering in the Living Springs Neighborhood? If so, I want to welcome you to utilize my skills and knowledge. You can invite me to the gathering and I can do all of the below listed things. Eventually, when the Wellspring Monastery is up and running, I will facilitate these activities on site.

Here is the list of activities I can facilitate.

Open Mic

Ice Age Farming: Conversation about the upcoming Grand Solar Minimum and how to grow crops and be otherwise prepared

Neighborhood Watch: Let’s brainstorm and make a handbook that is specific to our neighborhood which can help us have a kind of organic neighborhood watch. I found this information to be helpful. We an use it as a guide.

Emergency Preparedness: There are lots of things going on in the world. How can we cooperate during these trying times so that we can thrive, not just survive. What happens if the power goes out? What if the pipes freeze? What if internet goes down? Let’s do things like set up a telephone tree, have alternative sources of communication, and figure out where to meet if there is a big catastrophe. Starting the conversation is the first step.

Barter: Who wants to start trading and get away from using money? We can set up a barter system where we don’t necessarily trade directly with each other. We can set up something like Time Banks.

Scrapbooking: I am collecting pictures and memories from our neighborhood’s history, and have a scrap book to put them in. I have lots of interesting items that are inspiring and fun. Let’s talk about memories as we do this work. If you have any scrapbooking materials to share, that would be great!

Voice lessons: You can record the vocalises that I teach and practice them at home. They will strengthen your vocal mechanisms and naturally help you to sing better.

Cold therapy: I will teach a method of breathing and go over how to take a cold shower. We will not actually take a cold shower! The breathing exercises and cold showers are fantastic for boosting the immune system.

Story Telling: Let’s tell stories about our childhood or adventures we have had as adults that are uplifting and inspiring.

Worship: singing unto the Lord. I will lead simple worship songs that can bring into a place of deep connection and appreciation of God.

Bible Study: Meditating on and discussing scripture passages

Dance exercise to Christian music: I’ve got some great youtube videos where the leaders do fun dance steps that help get our heart rate going. Toby Mac’s songs are some of my favorites.

Plant-based cooking lessons: I will demonstrate really simple recipes that are healthy and tasty

How to nurture your vagus nerve: The vagus nerve is one of the most important parts of your body. Having a healthy vagus nerve can boost your healthy immeasurably. You can read more here.

Children’s party: If a child is having a birthday during that month, I have experience entertaining children at parties. We can do all the things I used to do: sing songs, dance, play games, and tell stories. If there is an adult that wants to celebrate their birthday being as a little child, join us!

How to get organized: As a professional organizer for over 2 decades, I have learned a lot about how to quickly and easily declutter. I will offer some tips and take questions about specific situations you might have. You can learn more about my organizing business at http://www.becomeorganized.wordpress.com

If weather permits:

Scavenger hunt: I can make a list of things for people to find in nature.

Hugelkultur gardening: Read more about this great way of gardening here.
