A new vision might be blossoming: a wellness center

A place where people can learn how to thrive on every level!  And learn how to help all of life to thrive. That is what I want Wellspring Community to be.

I now see that the people who I want to live here have some kind of healing ability, or the passion to help people to have optimum health.  Some people will learn how to be wellness coaches. Others will want to live in the community because they want to be in a healing environment and serve.

When I envision reaching out to people who have a similar passion as I do–to serve joyfully doing what I love to to–I feel invigorated and inspired.

I realize now that I want people to join me who have hearts to serve all of life. And of course that includes the animals, plants, insects, all of that which wants to flourish on this earth,

My idea of having a tiny home village came from wanting to serve people who needed affordable land and who wanted to live cooperatively. I thought that as people came, right livelihoods would emerge that we could support ourselves with by combining our know-how.

I also could empathize with families who wanted a safe place to raise their kids. How I yearned to find the perfect community where I could share child-raising with other parents when my kids were growing up.

When I learned about the land regulations that recently somehow got created without the government letting me know, I was crushed. I felt as if my dreams were shattered. Yet I wasn’t immobilized or depressed as I might have been two or three years ago when I experienced a 3 week period where I had zero motivation and 99% hopelessness when my aspirations were dashed against the rocks.

For several days I did feel heavy and lethargic, yet having work to do in the garden kept me from going into a dark hole. Having something useful to do, being in beautiful nature, and having the therapeutic effects of having my hands in the dirt, sunshine on my body, and physical movement gave me a sense of stability.

My deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga and cold shower routine in the morning also keeps my spirits from going into the morass of discouragement.

Continuing to cultivate my relationship with Jesus in various ways creates an umbrella of protection that gives me a stability that I feel so grateful to have. I am trusting Jesus and our loving Father along with Holy Spirit to guide me on my path.

I feel so grateful to my family–two former husbands and our two children. After being with Robert 29 years, and Cliff 44 years, I increasingly appreciate how precious their presence in my life is and what beautiful hearts they have.  I’m glad to have good relationships with my daughter and son, and I’m looking forward to having a grandchild to nurture again.

Of course, the Covid-19 pandemic has contributed to a kind of malaise which wants to keep my heart from singing. I feel torn. On one hand, I don’t want people to suffer. And the fear of the unknown is present. Yet how fortunate we are to live in the country. I am driven to connect ever more deeply with nature. I’ve been disappointed by people and am taking a break from most socializing except for my family.

I usually don’t do well without a compelling vision of what I want to do. I love to throw myself into projects. I have spent countless hours writing on this blog and about 50 others when I get an idea I want to share.

Yet I accepted for the past 5 days or so–that I just didn’t know what I was going to do for sure–besides nurture the land that I have been so blessed to be able to steward.

I’m going to let this idea ferment for a few days. I have a strong feeling it is going to turn out to be an idea which will nurture me, my family and countless people who want to learn how to be healthy–in body, mind and soul. That includes being able to live with others in healthy relationships which yields healthy community.

I feel at peace with this vision. I feel hopeful. Thanks for reading this and being present with me on my journey to wholeness.

  1. I have friends in need of healing. One has been rejected by father, then mother. He is in his early 20’s and currently around jasper. I sent them you blog to see if they are interested.

I know your site says disbanded, but I also saw that you’re a follower of Christ, as am I. We both know what he says about us making our own plans.
